Mosque Membership, Fellow Bay Staters, Friends and Family,

We at Yusuf Mosque join in with all Citizens to mourn and pray for the impacted at yesterday’s 
Boston Marathon Tragedy as well as those impacted at the JFK Library. The American Muslim
membership of Yusuf Mosque is outraged by these events. Violence in any name or cause is
unacceptable and must be adjudicated by the law.

In this awful moment of loss, we lift our prayers to [God] for the families and loved ones who
must now grieve their losses. However, we do so at the side of our neighbors, friends and fellow
Bay Staters. We also pledge the full support and assistance of the body of our congregation as
part of the larger healing process that must ensue.

We extend our deepest prayers and sympathies to all of those stricken with unthinkable grief.

Doctor Kamal Youcef-Toumi is a well respected professor at the Mechanical Engineering Department at MIT, which he joined in 1985. Professor Youcef-Toumi earned advanced degrees in Mechanical engineering from MIT. Dr. Toumi is co-director of the program for Clean Water and Energy at MIT and King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals. Besides his rich academic life, Dr. Toumi is passionate about the Quran, its disciplines , arts and sciences.

Topic: The Lessons We Learn from Surah Kahf That Make Us Wise Part III: The Story of Two Prophets and the Exchange of Knowledge between Them!

Imam Ibrahim Rahim spent eight years of study in Saudi Arabia where he graduated in 1989 from the Islamic University of Medina, completed the Arabic Language Program, Quran recitation, and passing by Mecca where he advanced his Quran recitation attending the Haram Mosque. Imam Ibrahim returned to Boston where he worked as an associate Imam at Masjid Al-Quran in Dorchester, MA until 2011. Over the span of 22 years, Imam Ibrahim worked diligently to share his knowledge with the Muslim community of Boston and around the nation as well as lead the Ramadan Taraweeh prayers in Boston at Masjid Al-Quran. Imam Ibrahim completed five books on the religion of Islam including literary work including Arabic Grammar, Tefsir of the Holy Quran, Tauheed, Womanhood in Islam,and an analysis of Iman as given in the Hadith collection of Imam Muslim. Imam Ibrahim is currently offering Tefsir of the Holy Quran and training families in Quranic recitation. His favorite saying is: “Traveling through a strange place, on my way back to Allah.”
