Quran Verse of The Day

Sunday School Spring 2010 Closing Ceremony

May 22, 2010
8:00 pmto10:00 pm

Dear families and friends,

We had such a wonderful and blessed evening two weeks ago closing the Spring 2010 Sunday School Level 1 & 2 at YUSUF MOSQUE. We hope you all enjoyed it. Your children are becoming part of us and they are getting attached to the mosque in harmonious ways. It was satisfying and heart-warming to see them showcase their progress in reading Arabic, reciting the Quran and performing the Adhan with the proper rules; to see them engage, speak freely on the microphone in public, laugh, play and bond with each other boosted the energy of the evening. It was powerful to see the parents and friends cheer, applaud, support, hand the gifts to the kids and take memorable photographs.

We would like to thank again all the volunteers who contributed to making the event memorable. Many thanks to everybody who attended the ceremony. Thank you to Sheikh Abdel Monim and Dr. Hamza Belhaj for teaching the kids. Thank you for caring for your kids and bringing them to classes every Sunday even when the weather conditions weren’t the best.

Of course, we couldn’t have put this together without the will of God. The success of the kids, of the ceremony and of anything is clearly strengthened by the grace, reward and the pleasure of the most graceful, the best giver, the most knowledgeable, the one and only God. So many thanks to Allah.

Dinner Sold downstairs Sadaqa towards food preparation, library and school. Potluck encouraged.

The YUSUF MOSQUE’s Sunday school aims to provide students with an Islamic education so they can understand in Arabic, the sources of Islamic wisdom, the Quran, Hadith and scholarly contributions; to live according to Islamic teachings and values and be of service to humanity. For each start there is an end. Saturday May 22, 2010 marked the closing ceremony of the Spring semester. The LEVEL I and LEVEL II students demonstrated their progress reading Arabic and reciting short verses from the Quran in a fun, supportive and nurturing environment. The proud fathers and mothers rejoiced as their children, one by one, received certificates of recognition and gifts. A new start will begin soon taking the students to the next milestone in their journey of learning Arabic and the Quran.
